True. Even before Covid-19 strikes (since now we are wfh), each time I take grabcar to the office (when my car is sent for routine servicing), I always hear these former white-collared PMETs from the private sector-turned-driver how they missed their jobs in the banking, consultation, shipping, tech industries after being axed... and now need to resort to driving for a living just to bring the bacon back home. Their stories are all very sad and I do give them tips sometimes.

Mr. private sector here mansplaining on a civil service salary comparison thread why the public sector pays peanuts compared to private sector, after being "curious" about why people choose to join the public sector.

And then a "different" person comes along calling us out for being "defensive". LOL 🤭

Meh. They are probably the bottom of the barrel. But I do get why they miss their jobs though - high paying and above average progression if you donít suck.

You call this being defensive? This is a thread for discussion on civil service and some insecure private sector guy has to come here to promote how good private sector is with the yadayada I earn 8k. Geez get a life u trash.

isnít it ironic how peeps in civil service like to spread fake news about private sector and when others (out of goodwill) correct them, they act as if they own salary.sg lol

Certainly not as ironic as being "curious" about compensation in the civil service and then getting all defensive "oohh i give 6 yrs exp still kpkb don't believe yadada" to those who actually bother replying to you. Then proceeding to whine about how people in this thread are being "defensive". 😂

Stop being so childish. Iím not curious about the compensation in the civil service (believe me - not even the slightest lol) and am certainly not the person/poster you think I am. Just stick to what you know and donít go around making a fool out of yourself (acting like a professional commenting on the private sector lmao). As what others have pointed out earlier, you are merely a ďfrog in a wellĒ.
