Usually, the conversion to perm estab coincides with 1-year completion (or 2 now). With that comes Merit Increment. So it is not the conversion which results in the increment, but the annual MI.

Default Gahmen prioritizing ceca new citizens over sinkie citizens

ZaoBao: Gahmen care more ceca feeling over sinkie
From Zaobao deputy chief editor, we afraid to call out Ceca land but use South Asia and until now no authority dare to explain.... more care ceca feeling than own sinkie feeling...
thumbs up for this ZB chief editor. In just few sentences, she summarises what many Sporeans are feeling now.

But don't you think that was rather long? Almost 4 weeks later to be formally offered. Wonder that exactly too place in between.

Background check includes reference checks from your previous employer/s and/or academic certificates validations from your school/university?

And what exactly is a security clearance?

TLDR received offer from a ministry, am ok with everything except for the pay but unsure if I am too narrow minded
Well, if you can find yourself a better paying job elsewhere... Otherwise...

5.5k after 2 years of exp is pretty decent! Wonder what happened if you could share.

I didn't go through NS, and the numbers mentioned are not AWS. Previous role has a fixed 1 month bonus.

I'm concerned that post-covid my future employers will lowball based on the ministry's offer. I also tried to nego but HR was adamant that it's final.
