yeah. but overall package is the same as IT people in other agencies
ie. IT folks have additional 1 month MAC + mid/end yr bonus + aws + PB
sums to an avg of 17 months package for IT folks as compare to GT avg 15.3 months
I was the previous poster who move from GT to LTA.

I went for intervew and as told it is a 1 year contact and subjected to performance if it is to renew or not.
Is this the norm in CS? Is it always a contract position?

Yes. Norm. My side its 2+2
2yrs contract, followed by another 2 yrs then become perm.

2011 - 3.3k
2012 - Promoted to AM - 3.8k
2013 - 4.1k - Market adjustment
2014 - 4.9k - Promoted to Manager
2015 - Joined Civil Service (one of the typical ministries with one of the typical corporate functions) MX11 - 6k
2016 - 6.3k - B assessment
2017 - 6.6k - B assessment
2018 - 7.8k - promoted to MX11A with A assessment
2019 - 8.2k - B assessment
2020 - 9.5k - promoted to MX10 with B assessment
Age 35 - total farmer cos of my 2.2 honours
