From what I heard, contract is pretty much the norm.
It's usually 2 years contract and 6 months before end date they will ask if u wanna recontract
Or not extend u if u suck.
Not sure how my profile will help ur question though.
Are u applying or are u already inside?

Thank you for sharing. Still thinking of applying for the contract role

Salary Package from Private to Ministry
Hi, I am in a private agency helmed under ministry.
Currently MX12, Manager, $4.6k, private degree (Pass degree), 10 yrs experience (5 yrs relevant experience)
Seeking adv on the following:
How much increment would a ministry offer for 2 yrs direct contract - Manager?
Any default computation of salary package based on above?
Thank you much!

i dont think HR computation is openly discussed. i would think increment is minimal and a fix quantum bonus for completion of contract?

Anyone can share why contract staff is the norm? Must be coz contract staff cheaper to hire than perm right? Or is it because it is easier to downsize when the need arises?

Yes..
It is easier to not extend the contract than to fire people when they are not performing.
