If a person who joins a company on mx scheme during precovid and get $x

Then because of covid, theres a revision of pay to $y, meaning that another person who joins now at the same mx rank gets $y. Does the person who join during precovid get $y too?

Doubt it. Each person pay is unique to him

Tats kinda sad, so basically there is a chance of getting a lowballed starting salary due to covid?

Tbh I don't think so.
Because starting pay is according to ur qualification and experience and which mx
I would expect them to not pay higher but match current pay

Not future pay but current pay.

So I doubt so on lowballing.
One can hope for salary adjustment soon!

Of cos, we are in a recession

Dun forget many places are having paycut

Unregistered 05-11-2020 11:46 PM

Wait, now im confused. I thought ppl are paid according to some bracket?
Very simplified example here.

Pre-covid:
FCH -4800
2nd upper -4500

Now(revised):
FCH -4400
2nd upper -4000

So if a fch undergrad was hired during pre covid times, he gets 4800.
If im a fch and get hired now, I get 4400 instead. Assuming that both of us are equally skilled, does the first FCH gets the revised pay? Or he continues to draw 4800 but I draw 4400? If thats the case, I will be at a disadvantage right? As I need more time to increment to 4800

There's a reason why there is a pay bracket.
Even mx 12 (manager level) starts from 2.8k

So yea. Tbh I think it's quite standard.
Might be a few hundred lesser but Cs won't short change u like. Private does.

And even if they do. You have a choice.
I took a pay cut for stability and to explore while I'm young and ofcourse can't miss this opportunity .

It's all about opinion.
What about those private ppl looking for job in covid now.

If we complaining and comparing there's never an end to this haha
