Thank you for your advice. What if the reason for job change it is not out of emotion, but really a role that you have confidence will take you in the direction you want to? I am a teacher for about 7 years now considering to change to a digital transformation role at another ministry. Similar to the guy/lady above, I was offered a 2-year contract with a 10% pay cut. Will the next public service role really not take into account my years of experience??

Honestly. I would say if one does not have any commitment or loans.
Anything up to 20 or 30% pay cut will be worth if u have prospects.
Many private want to switch to civil service and it comes at a cost. There will defo be pay cut
Also. Not many people will be offered.
If u are offered. I guess count urself better than others as the best fit for the job
Change ur mindset it's like paying for advancement.
And most importantly...... Do it when ur young so u don't regret
