At this rate should be able to retire at 65 with at least 300k passive which is enough for most people.

300k passive is too much, personally i will trade 200k for retirement by 50. Important to enjoy life than waste time working till old age.

I agree. My net worth is slightly above $8m but my investment skill sucks - I am holding too much cash waiting for the stock market to correct but the market actually went up! Need to learn from the other forumer who is able to generate a steady 5% return on average year in year out. When I can achieve that, I will call it quits as $320k a year would suffice for us even if we add another member in the future to our family of 3.

Defeatist logic like it's easier said then done and not easy because I fail and those who succeed are only minority because it's easier for them is a self-destructive mentality. It is a psychological reflex mechanism to increase ego and self-esteem and soothes the pain of losing out in life.

Just like the typical IPPT failure, they themselves know they didn't pass because of lack of exercise, not because physically impossible. But the usual excuses are always too busy with work, incentive too little, forgot training plan etc.
What an analogy relating to IPPT. Great example!
