Is it really that bad for engineers?

I have a bachelor in accountancy from one of the local universities, and am having second thoughts on my degree.. I felt that if I could turn back time, I would have chosen engineering instead.

But then again, the grass is always greener on the other side..

Accountancy and finance have good prospects and you can eventually end up in management, however the long hours are a bitch.

In engineering even if you put in long hours, you may not end up in management. There are just too many engineers(local+foreign) in Singapore, hence the lower salary than expected for most.

Tough life; went for interview, interviewers insist that I clear the p.e. exam & get license within a specified time frame.

Its been a long time since I last hit the books.

Not sure what to do.

Which company is that? If you do not mine me asking.

Anyone knows what's the fresh engineering graduate pay & prospects in National Environment Agency (NEA)?

I'm currently studying environmental engineering in NUS, and am thinking of working there when I graduate.
