Since you're single, you can retire in JB now.
Here's how
1. Sell your condo at S$1m
2. Invest the S$1m in a portfolio of high quality dividend yield stocks giving you a dividend if 5% pa or S$50k pa dividend
3. Convert S$50k dividend pa into RM to get RM150k pa
4. Monthly expenses in JB RM36k pa
5. Save the rest

You can rent a brand new 3 bedroom condo in JB for RM1000 pm due to the big oversupply of empty condos in JB

If you cannot handle the stress you should consider less stressful jobs. No point destroying your health for that $170k of taxable income. Semi-retirement is also a good option. By the way $170k of taxable income is not really a big amount. So, if you can't hack it, just let it go.

However, at 47, you should not go into full retirement. Many studies have been done and the results always point to same conclusion - that young retirees increased their risk of falling into depression by 40%! Just google early retirement & depression to find out more. Besides that, your mind deteriorates much faster when you are not working.

You can also tell from the many repetitive posts about the same things from those early retirees that their mind is not taking on new things, their knowledge is not growing.

So, yes, do take care of your health but don't make the mistake of retiring fully only to end up compounding your health issues.

Many high flyer ex bankers retired in their 40s after making it big. Given their background and expertise, they become successful full time investors. They spend their retirement years fruitfully by being active investors. They do lots of in depth research and engage discussions with management during AGMs. This way, their mind are fully active minus the office politics and long working hours. Many also sit in committees of charities as a way to give back to society. Their standard of living shot up tremendously because they have more leisure time and they don't need to be at the beck and call of bosses. They don't have to be stuck in morning traffic. They are also healthier and happier.

Full retirement does not mean you're retired from life. You're just retired from being a wage slave. Full retirement means you're independent, you're your own boss. You have choices on how you want to spend your time.

Be careful of your stress level. If it is too high, it can lead to depression. If your current job is too stressful, get a less stressful job. You also have the option to retire in a cheaper country such as Malaysia and Thailand. Your condo is your assets for retirement. If it is valued at S$2m and if you sell it can convert to RM, you will get RM6m. You will be among the top richest person in Malaysia if you have RM6m.

I own a condo in JB, paid up.
Plan to retire soon when condo TOP.
Will rent out my paid up flat for $2.5k pm (RM7.5k pm).
Expenses in JB will be RM2k pm - food, utilities, car petrol, etc.
Can save RM5.5k pm.
