If you look at the Feb 2015 BTO flats exercise, the cheapest 2 room flat in hougang cost only $13,000 (including grants) and the cheapest 2 room flat in bukit Batok is $20,000 (including grants). This is incredible. This shows the lowest income families and groups are taken care very well in Singapore. The 4 room flats cost from $220,000 (including grants). This is very, very cheap. You cannot get this kind of cheap, high quality housing in other major cities in the world. Singaporeans are very lucky but unfortunately there are people who are not grateful. They want to live in D9 condos and Nassim GCBs even though they earn just an average salary. Just be contented with what you have. Strive hard to improve your lives but don't neglect your family and health.

I am diu ppl guy lol. This statement I agreed to a certain extent. But hey if everyone is contented with what he/she has then society how to improve? All the crap about capitalism, democracy all becomes ********, unless u dont mind going back to socialism and communism style governing.

I always tell my fellow human beings, know how big your head is. No big head, dont wear big hat. Today the so called "rich" definition bar had been pushed to 5 million (net cash). Dont believe go to our local banks and apply for those privilege banking and let them tell u the definition.

The only alternative that I can think of is to migrate when old. Go other places where ur money is bigger (hopefully SGD is still that strong by then and our neighbors are still that dumb). If not get ready to suck thumb lol

50 year old guy, 45 year old wife. Total annual income $165k. We have two children in sec schools. We live in a 3 bedroom condo which we bought in 2013. Current value of the condo is $1.1m and loan outstanding is $200k. We have cash savings and we bought a new car last year which we paid in cash. We lead a simple middle income lifestyle. Our total net worth is $1.5m, comprising our home equity, CPF, car and cash savings.

We are happy with our achievement thus far since we came from low income families. Our hard work in school and at work has paid off quite well. Even though we are not top earners, we are contented and at peace since we don't have much debt, our debt is just our remaining home loan which we pay by our CPF funds.

We are happy and grateful to be able to own a condo and a new car. We feel blessed.

Congrats bro. Indeed, you have achieved well. To live in a condo is the dream of Singaporeans who are living in HDB flats. More than 80% of residents here live in HDB flats and it is their dream to upgrade to a condo. You have achieved it. You also own a new car which is also the dream of all Singaporean families. You must be the pride of your aged parents.

I have made false statements here and people have agreed to them.
I have made real statements and people have vehemently disagreed to them.
Sometimes I get bored and I reply to my own posts too.
