Not point arguing over these things.

Here in Singapore, you can go and come as you like. Not happy ? Then go.

Happy? Stay.

Singaporeans are well travelled for work, study or holidays. So they are quite justified to give their comments.

With your total of $150,000 (stocks & cash) and losing at a rate of $150 per hour, your money will last you 42 days only.

Better to do some real work.

If you are not happy here, just go. Wasting everybody's time. Like what Alaric say - stoopiak.

We are not among the high earners in this forum. Our combined income is only $120k pa. We bought a condo for $500k in 2005 after selling our 5 room HDB flat. We have since paid our mortgage loan for the condo. Our cash and CPF savings is now only $300k. We hope we can remain employed until 70, now we are 50 & 51 respectively. We don't own a car as the MRT station is near our condo. We save $2k pm by not owning a car.

We should have more people like you with no car. Our roads are really congested and it is not enjoyable to drive during peak hours. In my condo, which is next to an MRT, the number of cars seems to be increasing with many of my neighbours just scrapping their old cars for new ones. Even those retired have bought new cars!

What kind of work are you in now? Is it desk bound? You should know whether you can continue working in same capacity as you get older. Many of my older colleagues who chose to continue working after hitting 60 stepped down to less demanding jobs with pay cuts.

Monthly salary 3000. but whole body wear branded. LV belt, gucci pants, prada shoes, zegna shirt, burberry cap, prada sunglasses, rolex boy watch, walk with a swagger like I am rich, look at me.

Bank savings: $501.

Society likes to stereotypes people. Society tends to look down on husbands who earns less than the wife. My hubby earns less than me, only $4k pm, whereas I earn $8k pm. I dont mind at all as long we we share our responsibilities at home.

My hubby spends his free time tutoring our children, he helps out with the household chores and is a responsible husband and father. He is careful with his money and good at saving and investing his money. With our combined savings we can now afford to upgrade to a $1m condo. We sold our flat for $600k and paid down using our cash savings. We only need to borrow $200k in mortgages, which is very comfortable for us financially.

Interesting view.

If you dont say /tell people your salary, how would they know how much you earn?

It may not be true people look down on those who earn low salaries. I think it is more how people carry and conduct themselves. If you are a lout, obnoxious and no class, no matter how much you earn, you will not earn the respect of others.

You must be subconsciously thinking about the low salary your husband earns, otherwise you wont bring this up. If you dont tell anyone, nobody will know.
