I only earn $25k per YEAR after 12 years of working. So depressed, now I'm 31 years old, many of my friends... are not my friends, they are only my colleagues. I am only an office admin.
Life is not even worth living. Struggling to pay for my tiny 3 room HDB flat in the cheapest estate in SG (Woodlands), no holidays and no car.

Think positive. You at least have a roof over your head in one of the safest countries in the world.
And you also have a computer and internet connection for you to post on forums, find information and news and learn more about this world.
That is much better than many other people out there in other countries.
Think positive.

Well, if you are so unhappy... Just feeling disappointed and wallowing in self-pity won't change things at all... you really have to resolve to do something abt it.. I was in the same boat as you.. merely earning 1k plus a month.. Parents couldn't afford to fund my education.. So it was up to myself, to do or die... i put in hardwork, made lots of sacrifices, but most importantly i remained very focused and discipline always seeking ways to upgrade myself.. my strong belief that my future destiny of a possibly better life can be achieved by taking the right actions... this strong desire within, subconsciously caused me to prioritize how i would spent my time and money for self betterment.. 12 years later, i have just graduated with an honors degree and is almost 4times of what i was getting in the past.. U should try it...

That's quite an achievement. How did you do it? Promotion every year?

probably a bank. i know a friend who moved from finance ops servicing front office to direct front office P&L management or something. same level of salary movements.
his friend helped him with the move. and he's helping his friends too -- a long list! (i wasn't close with him enough to be on this list, sadly).
so, know the right people and you'll benefit. luck plays a part, definitely.
