There are many diploma holders who are successful. For instance, you can be a successful property agent or a successful hawker selling the best chicken rice at $2. Make sure you do not fall into vice such as drinking, smoking, gambling, womanising, cheating, etc.

Currently have 2 units in Sentosa Cove. Staying in one, and Renting out the other.

Those are not true GCBs. They are 99 leasehold. After 99 years, you don't own them anymore. Why now buy a couple of GCBs at Nassim area. They only cost $20m and above each. Very cheap I must say as they are freehold.

Late forties graduate couple. We are not high income earners, only $168k pa. We are lucky that we are able to upgrade from a flat to a condominium unit, which we bought in 2005 for only $500k. Now it is worth $1.2m and our loan left is only $200k. We also own a Jap car, paid up.
Life here is comfortable as long as you are not spendthrifts. We enjoy life but we don't waste on unnecessary things. We look for good bargains when we shop. Instead of going to restaurants twice a week, we go only once a week. Instead of going to US or Europe for holidays, we go to New Zealand or Australia.
We are just your typical middle income family, who are happy with our system of governance.

You are lucky indeed, in fact very lucky. Since you live in a condo, you are among the top 15% of Singapore's society, from a social status perspective. 85% of Singaporeans live in HDB flats, only 15% live in condos and landed properties.
If you compare yourself with the rest of the world, you are among the top 0.1% of the world's richest people. Millions of people are living in slums whereas you live in a beautiful condo.

My sincere advice is to get a degree as soon as you can, unless you are planning to set up yr own biz. I have a diploma in banking n finance, complete my degree after ns. Earned abt sgd350pa last yr, hv been working for 16yrs now.

53, $125k pa. Wife, 52, $110k pa.
Home: Condo, worth $1.8m, fully paid.
Cash and CPF, $700k.
I have friends and relatives in KL who said that I can retire in KL when I reach 60. I can retire in a penthouse condo there, whereas to retire in Singapore I will have to sell my condo and buy a 3 room resale HDB flat. Do you think this is a good idea? Anyone planning to retire in Malaysia?

Do you plan to sell your condo and downgrade to a 2 or 3 room HDB flat?
