Are property prices coming down or not? Seems like it could go either way. Strong real estate fundamentals seen for asia in 2014, says emerging trends in Real EstateŽAsia Pacific 2014; Singapore remains among top ten markets for investment
When you want to buy, it seems prices only going up.

An estimated 290m people will be added to Asia's population by that time. Income & wealth expected to grow, Asia to become dominant economic force.
Demand for food and housing will be high. As people get richer, demand for quality housing will also grow.
We are only a few days from 2014, and 2014 is only 6 years to 2020. I think investment in property cannot go wrong. Singapore may be a small country, but with an open economy and open door policy for successful people to come in, property investment will likely reap you good rewards.
The current oversupply in condos may provide a good but brief window to go in and grab some units. Already the government is slowing land sales to moderate the oversupply so don't expect drastic decline in prices. Grab when there is opportunity before the wild run up repeats itself.

J Gateway with comparable size units, some already sold at close to $900k. When TOP these units will be worth $1m plus. So, $700k is very cheap.

Just buy if you really can get at $700k and stay in it for your retirement. Prices will only go higher when the Jurong Lake District is fully developed over the next 5 - 10 years. The plan was announced in 2008 and already 5 years have passed, so expect more developments in the new Jurong Lake District growth region to be announced.

45, semi retired, earns passive income from stocks, works at home managing stocks investments, $70k pa. Wife, 43, working, earns $90k pa.
I've paid off our 5 room HDB flat mortgage and car loan. Now debt free.
Flat now worth $800k. Family expenses, $100k pa.
I'm a millionaire as my stocks portfolio is now worth more than US$1m.
But I don't look like a millionaire, still go to hawker centres to eat my favorite food in shorts and singlet.

I also own a lot of stocks. But what is there to "manage"? I just leave them there and dividends get deposited directly to my account.

I have two big portfolios - dividend stocks and growth stocks. I don't need to manage the dividend stocks so much, but the growth stocks need to manage actively as they tend to be more volatile. This is my trading portfolio and it has allowed me to grow my portfolio fast.
