hopefully retire from the day job and just focus on the markets in a few years' time...
Don't use last year as a benchmark. It was an abnormal year. 2010's profits annualised is probably more realistic.... You are a completely untrained investor trying to compete with professionals. It won't work.

Default HR Manager - Fortune Top 100 Company

Although I see quite a few realistic entries, I continue to wonder why people, typically the male, are overstating their salaries.
Wishfull thinking? Or maybe only high flyers like to brag on their salary.

Following are real salaries paid in our company. We are in the field of Process Management. Our employee turnover is less than 10%.
This is much better than the average of 18% employee turnover in our industry.

(All monthly Salaries in SGD)

Admin (3y): $1,000 - $1,200
Admin (5y): $1,500 - $1,700
Executive Secretary: $4,000 - $5,000
Accountant (5y): $1,500 - $2,500
Senior Accountant (5y+): $2,500 - $6,000
Engineer (3y): $2,000 - $3,000
Engineer (6y): $4,000 - $6,000
Manager: $5,000 - $7,000
Director: $6,000 - $12,000
Vice President: $15,000 - $25,000

finally:

HR Manager (10y): $7,500 (me)

We do pay 13th month, but no other bonus schemes in place. The highest earners actually are the sales people and project managers based on their incentives schemes.

Hope this helps all of you.

Honestly, I really think it's unjustified for a HR manager, a support staff, to be earning more than a manager in the core business. Btw, I do find the woman working in Singapore brags more than anywhere in the world. Perhaps they are simplier more fortunate and uncompassionate Thanks for the info, though I’m not sure if it’s against the company principles to provide these information in a public forum.

Since you brought it up, it seems woman working in Singapore brags more than anywhere in the world. Perhaps they are more fortunate to be earning comparable to the guys or simply just uncompassionate compared with their counterparts from other regions.
