is this actually possible based on the geo4 ceiling currently? can't really work out how that is possible unless I add employer contributions also?

What job role is this? IMO, you really shot yourself in the foot accepting the 52k offer. Now all future salary offers will be based on that rather than your 285k one.

SWE 1 in 2018, then I got promoted in 2019 to SWE 2.
2021 I hopped to AWS, role was Software Architect. TC includes the 20k USD sign on bonus along with the 100k 4 year vesting RSU.
2023 got laid off, my H1B visa has a law that says if I can't find a job within a few months, I must return to Singapore so I did. Then I couldn't find a job at all in SG, interviewed at TikTok and even did 2 on-site at Google.
Feedbacks were all good but Google's team matching process took over a year only to tell me no headcount... TikTok just ghost me. In 2024 I did close to 20 interviews, literally tried any company, Citibank, JP Morgan, Autodesk, Lazada, Grab, Mastercard, Paypal and many more.
I got rejected by all. Pretty sure I didn't fail the interview, if you know what leetcode.com is, I have a CR of 2.3k on it which puts me at a top 5% rank globally...
I am 99% sure I got rejected because they couldn't match my old salary of 285k because some of the recruiters told me that they couldn't even give 50% of my old salary... which is hilarious because first of all I didn't even ask for it, in the "expected salary" field, I asked for 80-100k.
I ended up accepting ST Engineering role as Application Support.
It is what it is, a job is better than no job. Tech market in SG has always been garbage.

Sorry not familiar about working in the US...
When you were laid off, there weren't other cities in the US you could work in?
Have you also considered working in other countries besides US?
