Pay vs WLB
No right no wrong in this case -- everyone has their own set of priorities at the end of the day. If you are not married, don't have kids, and you want to push yourself a little further career wise, by all means. I did just that before I got married and had a kid.
For your friends that said that they would trade pay for better WLB, for all you know, they may have a higher paycheck, but they spend a lot more hours at work (and travels if they can't wfh), resulting in less time with their young families etc.
Ultimately, it's all about what is important to you at this moment of time, and what you want to achieve career wise (again, no right no wrong as to those who do not wish to climb the career ladder). From there, you can plot your career path accordingly.

Any advice?
Not sure if it's good.. I rather work hard and earn more since at the end of the day it's 8 hours of working hours which is same everywhere else.
But my friends say that they would trade pay for better WLB...

It depends.
WFH is disappearing fast. Most companies are moving away from it.
Better buck up and prepare to work harder and longer hours.

31yo 7k per mth
Have 13th mth, usually 1mth bonus and some RSUs.
But will be making a switch to public sector in search of better job security. New role is abt 6.3k per mth. Standard civil service bonuses which im not very sure. Have sign on bonus 15k and every 3 yrs have 3mth salary payout. All in all lower monthly but the bonuses and special payments can make up the gap i estimate. If u know where, u know, i wont be making any confirmations so no need to guess/ask.
Any opinions?

Checking in with the old birds in CS here, if I rejected an offer and the HR come back 2 weeks later with a revised package 1 grade higher, is there still room for negotiation? The current offer is 14% higher than the initial offer. Meaning what? The HR tried to low ball me ah?

Nope. No low ball. They were just teasing your family jewels.
Sometimes, the hiring dept may ask HR to up the offer a bit.
HR may agree to do it.
Sometimes, HR may not.
Meaning you are lucky.

The bump in 2024 is due to high performance bonus plus starting to invest in US stocks.
