when i grad i went to work in govt for 2-3yrs, annual 55-63k with bonuses.

left cos I argued with my trash director, became insurance agent for 4-5yrs, annual 100-120k.

shifted to part time agent and opened a few businesses (wine , food , tuition centers, mama shops), i also employed software engineers to create 2 apps for doctors and home deliveries, now annual after paying salaries, bonuses, rental etc -> good times around 500k, bad times around 350k.

now researching to open car dealership, automation, see how it goes..

36 this year.

This one interesting… many people would have stayed in govt for stability

You dare to venture out try other business so many different things.

Hi I am back, was lurking in this forum during my off day.

Yeap, I wanted too stay all the way, but the system sucks and need to 'stuck up' to higher ups for promotion. I remembered I worked my ass off for few projects and ended up my colleague attained the promotion when she never even do much! Alot of angkat and wayangs.

Left to join FA, then became part time cos alot of youngsters went into this industry. They started to digitalize their daily routines and mass advertising different plans here and there to the extend the impression of FA tumbled so badly. Of course I still have people approaching me till today but I just feel.... meh. Maybe this is the new way of 'marketing' but I feel its too extreme.

So that's why I ventured out to do business, with the capital I have from my FA job and my other part time jobs ( like teaching tuition and investing ), govt also support abit so i feel its not that burden.

Still happy that that lady received the promotion, or else I think I will still be a civil servant...

I can’t believe there are actually dumb people who ask this sort of questions when statistics are available for interpretation and consumption. Unless of course you don’t even have the skillset to search and study on your own.

According to h t t p s://.salary.sg/2022/compare-your-annual-income-2021/

Disregarding non tax payers, SGD57.8K P.A. puts you on the 50th percentile.
SGD70.5K P.A.= top 40% of all resident tax payers
SGD89.7K P.A.= Top 30% of all resident tax payers
SGD124K P.A.= Top 20% of all resident tax payers
SGD186K P.A.= Top 10% of all resident tax payers
SGD700K P.A. = Top 1% of all resident tax payers

According to MOM: h t t p s://stats.mom.gov.sg/Pages/Income-Summary-Table.aspx
In the same year, MOM also released statistics which considers all the residents in Singapore including those who are exempted from tax due to too low income.
Median wage = 4680
Bottom 20%tile = 2500
This figure includes AWS, VB, Employer and employee CPF, allowances, OT (basically everything that goes to your name regardless where it is credited to)
4680 * 12 = 56160 Annual Income
56160 / 1.17 = 48K (Gross Before considering employer CPF)
Assuming AWS + 1Mth VB + 12 Month = 14
48/14 = 3.43K/mth
You are median if you make about 3430/mth which includes your allowance and OT before your AWS and bonus.

MOM provides figures base on breakdown too. Please go and do some research before asking stupid questions again.
h t t p s ://stats.mom.gov.sg/Pages/IncomeTimeSeries.aspx

You are welcome to challenge MOM and IRAS for the figures if you think you have better knowledge on statistics. Rather than posting such questions in the forum and get nonsense, please do the necessary research and speak with facts and figures.

sure or not? so many here earn 20k a month leh, 5 times higher than your median wage. sinkie where got so low one? all make 10k at least.

how are u earning anything at all? wtf

1. crypto isn't a scam
2. it's been a bad year for tech companies generally in 2022, i feel
3. it helps working for a regulated exchange so getting scammed is not likely
4. getting hacked can happen to any company in any industry
5. aiyooo, salary is still salary regardless how well the company is doing mah
