Class of honors matters for your first job imo. Since then no company has ever bothered about looking at my degree (though local companies might ask to see your transcripts, not really sure)

I am 4yrs your senior from NTU (not MAE). Similarly, I graduated with a pass degree only. Was earning 150kpa at age 34. Now slightly improved to around 190kpa. Started with low salary 30kpa as a fresh grad. Thereafter, honors not so important

Ah, I started with 36k. So our trajectories are very similar then. What industry are you in currently?
Not even talking about the posters here because you’ve no idea who’s lying and who’s legit but, I really do think I’m currently pretty average. Then again, I guess it’s about different perspectives.
One advice I can give to everyone out there is, the only way to increase your salary is by job hopping.

I am not in tech firm. Just engineering management role. I did job change a few times but it is not the only way to increase salary.

I am in early 40s, 150k per annum. Very low pay compared to many of my peers who are mostly in banks, mncs, while i am stuck in glc. Regreted big time.

150k is very very impressive nonetheless - how many people can say they earn 6 digits in their lifetime!!

sim uol graduate, 31m. I now own 3 landed properties worth 3.5m,5.5m and 5.8m.
Looking to retire soon. The tip is to start investing early, no use going to a local uni. Better gain work experience > learning obsolete stuff from school.
