Depending on the company but generally they will ask for it.

This forum is mostly $300k by 30s, so yes don't even bother asking. This is the reason why Singapore pays its ministers millions pa to reflect that their job well done.

So far no company I have interviewed at has asked for it. This is generally a red flag as it means they are benchmarking you to your past salary and not paying you what you are actually worth relative to the market rate.

All in? I wouldn't say it is little but it is perhaps slightly below average esp if you came from a local uni.

What kind of role? I would say it is still alright. Perhaps can be improved by jumping here and there.

Yes, especially civil service. They will ask you for everything. Haha.
But for private sectors, some don't. Some also don't ask for references.
For private sectors, if you are uncomfortable to provide anything, why not just ask the HR directly? Like ask them if it is a mandatory document and why it is required, what it is needed for?
No harm asking them in a nice manner, and most will explain. Sometime the requirement is legacy, and their workflow is not updated.
