Age 34, in tech. After a recent promotion, my base is now 190k, 240k OTE.
Thought it was pretty good, until I read a few pages earlier and it now appears that this is just average...?

Rather earn half the salary, pay lesser tax and work half the hours.

Use the remaining time to do what is truly non work related.

Staff Software Engineer at a FAANG
550k Taxable income this year. Mostly due to Stock Appreciation.
Work 12-14 hours days 5 days a week.

Wow, are the working hours that bad in FAANG? I always thought they had a decent work life balance there.

I'm 42 this year and I'm getting 2.2mil annual compensation. 10% of that goes to ESPP which I intend to hold for quite awhile.

I know I'm a bit of an outlier here but I am a VP in a large manufacturing MNC.

Studied hard in school and university.
Worked hard in my career.
Able to retire in my forties.
