You're either still young or a spendthrift. People earning half your pay can accumulate significant assets.

Without revealing your trade secrets, is it possible for you to share some tips on how to start a profitable ecommerce business?
Thanks for sharing.

I would believe the top 5% are easily S$200k and above. I am nothing compared to the lot.
More so when you read through and find out how much the front line bankers are getting, even on an entry level.
But for the record, I do real work (i.e. face-to-face with clients) only for a couple of hours a day now. Work - Family - Life balance is really something I enjoy and cherish while maintaining an acceptable standard of living for myself and my family. I also enjoy the interaction and relationships built through the years with the people I work with.
You gotta know what you want, and who you are. What sort of person you want to be living your life. For me, I know that I want to live life and see my child grow.
I don't want to be the kinda parent that is never home in the huge bungalow where my family stays.
This is an interesting forum, I take it as a reference, not a comparison point.

you've got to be passionate about the products that you're selling.. for example, i wouldn't sell children clothes that i wouldn't put on to my own children.. because if i dont love them, i'm pretty sure others won't too.. always updated with what's in and what's out.. have an eye for a taste also very important.. good quality pictures also plays significant role.. but most importantly, good quality of the real products as well.. this way customers are coming back for more of your products and not feel cheated by the pictures only.. very simple concept.. u'll be surprised at how far these people are willing to pay for these clothes

Thanks for the sharing.
May I know how long it took for you to start from nothing to being sufficiently profitable for you to quit your day job? One last question: How did you market your website?
Thanks!
