Dear phantom (Ben),
Did you ever take statistic in your high school or university?
Some guy already mentioned in his post that he knew people getting more and less than the so call 8k that another fellow stated. Different people have different experiences, exposures, qualifications and many other factors, thus the difference in remunerations.
I do not know what to say to you. May be happy job hunting?
