Advise on polytechnic courses

I need help on choosing my polytechnic courses.
I'm really very interested in solar energy which is available in clean energy course. But its engineering ... i wont earn much in future?unless i "create" something. I want to be successful in my career earning 6 digit PA(~300 000). Dont laugh at me because i know i can. The problem i'm facing is HOW! Believing in myself is not enough.

I'm also interested in computers such as Information Technology but still prefer solar :).

I'm not really interested in finance and banking sector except for stock market =X which is too risky , i'm not taking that risk. Furthermore i doubt i can get into banking/finance courses. :(

I plan to study at uni after NS.

Can you help me? :)

Hi,

>S$300K is pretty challenging/impressive.

Suggestion: Do read up and consider sales in the technical area.

age barrier for polytechnic courses ?

Hi,

I turn 32 this year and after working in IT for 8 years, I took a year off last year. Getting back into the workforce is quite the uphill task, so was thinking of going in for a diploma and exploring alternative career options.
But most of the diplomas on the Poly site assume that it'll be "youngsters" applying. Plus, I'm an Indian national (Permanent Resident of Singapore) with educational qualifications from India (Engineering degree).

Have I missed the bus ?

You can always take private diplomas. But do make sure there are recognized first in the industry and in Singapore. Having said that, poly diplomas are still open for u as long at u have the minimum qualifications to enter. I have heard of a 70 plus year old man taking up a poly diploma! So, u are still young!
