What is considered average and what is considered good.

Assuming you have about 6 years experience, I would say around $70k per annum will be typical?
How much are you making?

Try
JobStreet Singapore - Jobs in Finance, Sales, Accounting, IT, Software, Engineering, HR, Marketing
PayScale - Salary Comparison, Salary Survey, Wages
www.glassdoor.com
The salaries there are entered by people, as in real human. It's anonymous, doesn't come from recruitment firms and entered because people truly wants to compare their salary with what others are getting.
In other words, its more accurate....

are you sure? a third class honours with ns (28yrs old) can earn that much in civil service?
70k per annum including performance bonus and 13th mth which translate to a gross monthly salary at >$4500?
How many years of service do you have?

35 yo ivy leaguer. wasted initial career in lousy government agency, now struggling as software engineer in foreign bank.
only 130k/annum incl bonus. sideline adds another 10k/annum. could have been much better.
net worth around $1.1M combined with wife's. 2 kids. HDB heartlander. gives $2.2k/mth to parents both sides.
