i much rather date and marry within medicine.
not sure what u mean. u rather date and marry within medicine because u are afraid of being used financially. but u also imply doctors dont earn much in reality... so how would they use u, apart from the "increased perception" of dating a doctor at the start of the relationship? (a bubble that would burst really quickly)

It is all those insurance agents going after high net worth clients - they think Drs. And Drs usually nice and polite not so rude and nasty. So they are a good target. Business people can be blunt and rude tell the insurance agent go fly kite.
Also financial advisors. Bankers. All want to "use" the money they think Drs have. And when you tell people you have no money nobody believe you except.....other Drs. So I can understand what OP means.

If you're a doctor you will get what I mean. If you're not it doesn't matter

haha didnt expect that.

anyways just thought of this- what specialties would you guys choose if not able to get into the specialty you want or things didnt work out as plan for whatever reason?

as for myself, on hindsight, i would prioritise two criteria- non patient facing and hibernating on-calls. money is not a deciding factor.

If money is not a factor maybe you should just find something else to do.

Or maybe go into volunteer work in the medical field. More rewarding. (non financial)
