How is life as a doctor in Singapore?

Hi all. Pay as a consultant in the NHS is DEFINITELY lower than the equivalent in a public restructured hospital.
Friend of mine is consultant rheumatologist who worked in the UK. She got 75000 pounds annually BEFORE TAX. Tax rate? about 30 to 40 percent
Since starting at a public hospital in SG, she got offered 17k a month starting at consultant level, with bonuses not added in yet.

Cannot be 75000 sterling pounds per year. Go this website and you know. In UK everything v open one.

17000 per month, is talk cock.. O&G and surgical got chance, but for rheum non procedure is really not possible. Your friend is big cannon, like the neighbouring how is your net worth. Must show employment contract. I can also say my HO pay is $50k per month

How much does a year 1 radiology resident earn ? Do residents generally earn more than just MOs ??

Year 1 residents earn $150k per year.
Yup once u are a resident they give you $2k more allowance per month

Wow that’s a big jump and a big salary for a year 1 resident. So residents are definitely a cut above MOs even if they are like a 3rd year MO vs a year 1 resident. Do residents salary get raised as they progress to more advanced years ? What’s the difference between a resident and a registrar in a specialty training program ?

sorry i was the OP. what i meant was AC pay is abt 2k per month higher than reg pay.
base AC is around 150k including bonus.

150k is Not first year resident. first year resident same pay as MO. Resident and MO pay the same. in fact, some specialty resident must pay a training allowance, so in practice resident get lower pay.

pay increment is abt 2-5% depending on performance.

registrar = senior resident = passed intermediate exams/ completed 3rd yr of specialty training

Doesn't it take one to at least finish their PGY-2 (MO year) before they can apply to become a resident in their desired speciality? I feel residents are getting way underpaid then. Is registar when they are able to make the big jump in salary ? and Do residents pay also vary depending on specialty?

How many years before one can become a AC?
$150k per annum for an AC including bonuses doesn't sound like a lot given the number of hours put in.
