i think singaporean specialties are recognized in uk because uk is basically a landfill that takes even indian / pakistani specialists without discounting in some occasions. just cesr is never recognized as cct (which limits ur ability to move out of uk)
then u should have australia and canada which depending on ur specialties (basically FM easiest, then EM, peds, etc.) u do 1-2 years of supervised practice then good to qualify there
not 100% sure though coz i am not a doc

nah not recognised in UK either. UK only takes junior docs from those countries not consultants. Would have to 1. Finish PLAB as junior doc and go over 2. get into specialty training and train there.

like the other person mentioned, there is an alternative CESR pathway that allows some IMG docs to become consultants without CCT (not entirely sure how it works)

Medicine is not worth it as a career unless you are 100% sure you have the aptitude and perseverance to go through residency and become a specialist.
Currently a GP at Healthway and I make around 240k a yr after bonus. Not a fantastic salary considering I spent over 700k on my education (had to repeat 2 years at flinders and pay 2 more years of school fees and living costs)
My friends are making around the same as me, some even higher. One is a director at a Singapore statutory board making around 220k a year. Another is a lawyer making around 300k a yr as a salaried partner in a B4.
Many posters here think that it’s easy to make big bucks in aesthetics but that’s not the case. It’s a competitive market and your employment contract at an aesthetic clinic is not guaranteed . If you don’t perform, you are out. Starting your own clinic is even harder.

Specialisation is not recommend. Unless you are single with no commitments.
Seen some friends who quit gen surg residency because they have family commitments ( new baby, aging parents)
U practically have no life outside work as a resident.

Agree. some naive bro wants to bring his parents overseas for residency lmao. really want their parents to adapt to a new lifestyle in their golden years. please la... your parents' lives do not evolve around you.

Relative to my initial investment in terms of 1. Time 2. Effort 3. Cost I am the worst performer among my Raffles class
Everyone else is making same amount of money or even more money than me despite spending less time, less effort and less cost in their education journey.
Likely my income will remain at 240k until I retire unless I open my own GP clinic. Which is impossible considering the saturated market nowadays

I used to work for Healthway. Moved overseas.
Better balance in life. Don't work everyday. More variety of work.
Not all clinic work.
Income is 2-2.5 times yours. Weekdays also can do leisure activities.
Singapore is good if you invest. So invest.
