like wtf man I was rocking a pink colour mohawk hair in uk for over 5 years and my prof and clinical lecturers/ NHS staff there didn't even care at all

I am also a img from UK, came back to sg and did postings with all 3 clusters. Glad that I am not the only one who feels nuh is the most elitist and judgemental institution.
Funny thing is they always potray themselves as the most welfare, but I feel it is the hardest institution to really assimilate into

I am not sure if they favour nuh over ntu. Although most of the ntu students/duke seem to go nhg/singhealth. I must emphasize, there are many img who got into nihs residency and done well, but I don't know for some reason, I always find nuh people quite cliquey/exclusive (as in difficult to become part of them) compared to the other 2 clusters. But this is just my experience la, may not be the same for everyone

the conditions are harsh in SG. even as med students. you are expected to attend late ward rounds with HO/MO and attend teaching. somedays it can go as late as 10pm. and the standards are high. they will scold u in front of patients if you dont have the right knowledge. that's almost unheard of in the uk. consultants in SG are more like the high untouchable bosses, whereas in uk they are like friends. they dont scold u or shout at u in uk.
which is crazy. in UK the latest I have ever round with the team is till 5pm. that's when I decided SG is not the right place for me for training.

Hey bro, just curious
Do you get to learn more with so much more rounds or teaching?
Wonder if harsher training longer hours actually make better doc
The us guys always argue their residency 60-80h long make them better doc than uk despite shorter length
