And it depends on the speciality.. good luck trying to make 1 mil or more a year as a renal or infectious disease doc.
Just do aesthetics if you want money.. base salary starts at 200k an annum for fresh entry and increases rapidly to 400k an annum after 5-6 years.
the sky is the limit if you go solo prop or partner.. worst case I heard is someone making 600k an annum in a struggling aesthetics practice. best case is someone making upwards of 5 million a year in a multi-chain practice

Okay residency-5 years AC-2 years build rep 4 years as consultant But every year of the residency will be absolutely hard
Aesthetic work is pleasant and no heavy lifting or long hours

I don't know if aesthetics pays 600k to be honest, although I must admit all my aesthetics friend look more posh in their lifestyle compared to my GP friends. They eat in better restaurants, dress more lavishly, and seems to spend more time attending networking events etc..
(It may be all for show, but from the outside they look of a higher ses than the GP/FP that I know, both public/private )

U see interventional cardiologist who are really making 500 to 600k in public showing off or not?
No need mah.
They just quietly live in their nice landed homes and wank to their bank account

You also assume that someone can get into residency in the first try, the reality is that many people have to apply for 2/3 times before they can get into a top residency like ENT/Ortho/OB.
Getting into a residency is only the start of the journey, it does not guarantee you will exit.
I know many MO friends who dropped out of gen surg halfway through their training. They can’t tahan the long hours and suffering. All went to GP land/aesthetics after dropping out

Safe to say, you can make at the very least 300k a year after 4-5 years of experience working in a chain clinic, even if you are a bottom performer.
But that’s not the main point. Aesthetics allow you to enjoy life at an earlier age. It’s the best reward to effort ratio path in the medical profession. You don’t need to do any further exams or go for residency training. Just a MBBS and some COC certs are enough. Of course you need to have a warm personality and a good smile.
