Possible. Could be drs in private who got mental health concerns and changed to Temp Registration. There is one member here who is like that. She works for RMG. Just bought a freehold landed with husband who does not work. Owns another landed in JB. Earns about 7k a month as a GP. Temp registration but heard going to go back to Full soon.

Also this is the locum scheme for public (basically 1/2 of private prices if not worse)
120 sgd per hour for mbbs non specialist (probably 4-5yoe but dropped out to be private gp after pgy2-3) who wanted to kill time in public hospital
150 for specialist, and gf's friend told me there is a supplementary allowance of 50sgd per patient (can't remember exact amount) once you see more than certain numbers (but capped)
I am shocked about the disparity and most of us didn't know hk salary is so much higher.
I actually only learnt from gf and classmates back when i was living there

Oh that’s really nice bro. Saw that your the guy who wanted to switch into medicine. All the best bro it makes a lot of sense for u to go to Hong Kong and u would definitely make back the initial costs. A few of my peers went back to HK after Fy2 and they were even paid extra for the UK experience and MRCS. They also value UK degrees highly there so you’ll do great. Just make sure to brush up on cantonese and be ready to take the grind for first 2-3 years but a guy like u from IB wont be a stranger to hard work. Ignore the comments about the HK patients being more demanding that’s just salty bonded MO trying to drag ur hopes down.

I am not kidding. I see Hongkie patients abroad and they are one kind. Be prepared to get requests to sign off on fraudulent insurance claims for insoles, underwear, compression stockings, shoes etc.

Wow, I thought Temporary Registration is mainly for those who's medical degree is not recognised by SMC second schedule. I was actually referring to those who come in directly to private as Temporary Registration. Heard RMG has some of them as well.

temp reg directly come in is rare. Usually it’s C reg then go private. There is a decent number of C reg specialists and GP in private

There are many cond reg GPs in private practice. those who went back home and did not wish to specialise are usually recruited on cond reg in GP setting. Better hours and initial pay. Optional career progression into FM.

Can. And you mean SMC not GMC right?
They are usually employed in an area of need. Eg community hospitals, A&E , polyclinic , gen med services at some point in the last 20 years.
They then do the academy of singapore diploma then convert to conditional reg.
Some of them heng heng got full reg but quite rate.
But overall the experience with them not very good so got spoken rule to TRY to not give them full registration.
now we have so much manpower. Every year 700 HOs
3 years 2000 MOs liao.
not much reason to hire doc on unschedule list of med schools la.

There are also foreign trained specialists who are conditionally registered in the private sector
