Pleased to see there are sensible people out there.
To the one asking the question- would you let age be the barrier of everything else stands the same? I think get your med degree and then many door are opened for you. Who says doctors have to be clinical doctors?

Drs in Singapore are very one track mind. Not too creative in what they can do or offer besides the standard clinical jobs. Medical training does this. Follow CPG. Follow protocol. Deviating will result in -1 mark (not even 0. better not to answer then 0) in the MCQ exam. So don't deviate. Just do nothing go with the flow better.

Honestly very hard to decide what to do after medical school as a Singaporean studying in the UK. All options have so many uncertainties and different pros and cons that it becomes so hard to decide

Is it able to try out and just come back in the mid way or are you expected to restart from 0 unless you are CCTed?
Wondering if it is possible to see whether you can get into any run-through post F2. Like stay in UK and CCT if you get into rads, go home if you didn't even get a number.

This is my current plan. Im hopeful for opthal so im gonna stay the 2 years and give it a shot. Worst case i waste a year and gain opthal experience and build CV to try in singapore in case i fail. Best case, i train, CCT and then return to sg
saw a discussion about aesthetics but not really very keen on that

I was like you 3 years ago when I graduated med school in the UK.. took a leap of faith by taking a gap year to spend time with my rich Korean girlfriend back in her country. Now I am happily married to her and helping her to manage her parents multi million dollar mart business.
In the real world, no one cares whether you have a med degree or even a degree at all. The ability to do business and be rich is something exclusive beyond any academic degree. The past few years have widened my perspectives on life ( I used to think education is the sole route to financial success)
Asset/business owners> professional workers.. there’s no way one person can be rich through education at all..
Anything less than 10 million usd net worth in today’s worth is not considered rich. So chasing a medical edcuation and being a doctor is only a guaranteed path to being upper middle class, not upper class.
