Just went back to my Rafflesian class gathering and guess what? The richest people in the room are not the doctors or lawyers. They are the tech bros and small business owners. One guy set up a coffee chain and he’s already looking to expand to Bali Indonesia. Some tech guy got lucky with his stock options in Meta, and he’s now already semi-retired. Only the doctors and lawyers are still slogging it out in the late 40s, specialists and surgeons included

yup true.
and Dr Chen Lip Keong and Dr Loo are possibly the top 10 richest doctors in the region and even in the world.
"Being a doctor himself, Chen was sympathetic to the fight against Covid-19 and donated millions of dollars to procure vaccines in Cambodia. More recently, he contributed SG$6.7 million to Rare Disease Fund in Singapore that enables the charity fund to extend financial support to needy patients suffering from rare diseases on the island state."
he donated 6.7mil SGD ..... while many people would kill to have a networth of 6.7mil SGD.

you think being the only doctor in a clinic means you probably have a high degree of autonomy, but in the end clinic manager and sales staff have a very big say...

Most in tech will never reach the level of wealth of a specialist doctor. Being a doctor or lawyer is still one of the best careers risk adjusted returns wise. As a specialist, proceduralsit, aesthetic clinic owner, or even GP chain owner, the high 6 figures and low 7 figures are definitely doable. U state these tech bros and finance guys and business owners as if they aren’t the 0.01 percent

you mean per month or per year, the high 6 figures and low 7 figures
