whether you actually have surgical skills is not a big issue. u can get in and polish it afterwards.
people need to like you first and foremost, and nothing makes people like someone more than 1,2,3

I’m quite tall and relatively handsome so I should be fine for number 1. I’ve got some papers already and have some i’m working on via the help
of other med students as well so I have the ability to put out papers. I also am quite confident a public speaker so presentations are not scary

All these small talk about money in medicine is hilarious. It’s impossible to scale our income because we are only a 1 man show at the end of the day. Yes you can improve your skills and be a specialist but at the end of the day you are limited by time (everyone has the same 24 hours a day)
Just went back to my Rafflesian class gathering and guess what? The richest people in the room are not the doctors or lawyers. They are the tech bros and small business owners. One guy set up a coffee chain and he’s already looking to expand to Bali Indonesia. Some tech guy got lucky with his stock options in Meta, and he’s now already semi-retired. Only the doctors and lawyers are still slogging it out in the late 40s, specialists and surgeons included

This is severe survivorship bias at work here. Sure the richest people are in texh and finance but ur seeing only the succesful people within those sectors. Yea sure, best way to get rich if everything goes to plan is texh and finance. But the likelihood of that happening is slim to none on a statistical basis. Most in tech will never reach the level of wealth of a specialist doctor. Being a doctor or lawyer is still one of the best careers risk adjusted returns wise. As a specialist, proceduralsit, aesthetic clinic owner, or even GP chain owner, the high 6 figures and low 7 figures are definitely doable. U state these tech bros and finance guys and business owners as if they aren’t the 0.01 percent

U don't cherry pick words out of context lei.
You PAP ah?
I say he become haughty because he no longer chit chat with us the non surgical resident the week after he got selected. Before that he was lamenting to us about his miserable life. Even share lifestyle pics of his kids. Go Lim Kopi together often
After residency result come out , he still still a mopexer but no longer stick around us. Dress v neat and always look very important.
If he remain as he was, I wouldn't have arm chio upon learning he become a GP.

not sure why people think it's ok to see so many patients .
communication quality compromise is a given
and with that, quality of care definitely drops
you dont have the time to listen to each patient
