Isn't he now working as a gp? What a waste of money and Cambridge degree. I would have expected him to be gunning for a specialty.

Not true. He could be appealing well to expats or running the biz well and making a very large amount of money

Final year med student here. Currently at a highly ranked London Uni and keen to return to Singapore after graduation but was wondering if it is even possible to get into residency without connections. Is hardwork, a good CV and being well-liked enough or will it still be impossible

Reading comments like these, makes me feel lucky that I was rejected by YLL 10 years old.
Did Law instead, and went on to work at Big 4 for 3 years before going in-house. Currently making around 250k/pa as a PQE 5 in-house counsel.
lol at my med friends who are still slogging it out at residency/ stagnant at GP land

U do realise GPs make the same amount as u and have 0 risk of being laid off. Succesful ones make a lot more than u do as well. Ur friends will be making just as much as u in 1-2 years and those who make it to private will be making 2-3 times more than u easily. The fact that u are reading this forum worried about how much doctors make is funny. Yes Law is great too but the lawyers who are doing much better than u are slogging it out in international firms too for the bigger pot of gold
