How many patients are you seeing per day? What are the most commonly requested procedures beside neurotoxins and HA-fillers? Do you find the margin on lasers higher than injectables?

Your comment shows how ignorant you are.
Your mom didn't pay for the 10 min that they were in there with the Gastroenterologist.
She paid for the last 10-15 years of training that this GI doc underwent to perform the procedure safely and effectively. Would you rather the GI doc watch an instructional video on while performing the procedure for the first time?

You must be kidding me if you think a person needs 17 years of experience to perform a colonoscopy
My friend says he does colonoscopies and he is a trainee in his 3rd or 4th year of training
If you're talking about some complex cancer or brain surgery I understand paying for 17 years of experience....

If you like plastics you won't be fulfilled in aesthetics.
Plus aesthetics is oversaturated , and demand is falling with people going across the border or overseas to get procedures done

Plastics residency is not that difficult to get into. A con was saying he was disappointed with this year's batch bec not many good candidates to choose from.

5 years of med school and 3-4 years of post-graduate training... adds up to 8-9 years right?
I assure you a 3rd or 4th year medical student is not doing colonoscopies. Playing in a sim lab maybe, but actual patient?

How's the demand for Reconstructive Facial Plastics? I am in private practice in the US. Most of my referrals are s/p skin cancer /Mohs excisions though. It doesn't seem like there's a large skin cancer disease burden in Singapore given the demographics.

not to mention the colonoscopy is being used as a figure of speech. The gastroenterologist is being paid for his years of specialised experience that allows him to not only carry out the colonoscopy itself but also analyse the results and treat the patient well. It’s silly
to debate what point someone can do a colonscopy at because that’s clearly not the point here

that’s good to hear. People i spoke to have said ortho residency is extremely hard to get in so i assume plastics may be similar. I am quite interested in it so i’m happy I can pursue that

is it really oversaturated tho? Clinics are booming and seeming to make substantial profit. The incomes earned by employees are also high

It’s gonna take you 4 years on average. 1 year of HO + 3 years of MO experience. Quite impossible to get into plastics as a PGY1. Most have to apply for 2/3 times to finally get in. Not to mention you are IMG.
