Ac usually is 10-11

ac clinical allowance is 4-5k
Baby con clinical allowance is 6-8k

Bonus/quality component is usually 3mth-5mth basic + 20-40k

But hor but hor the taxes r very heavy.
We are really paying 3k to 5k taxes every mth

Anyway just ask ur boss what is the income tax
Income tax is very accurate at this level. Coz the impact of tax reliefs is quite small compare to income.

There r fm guy that live in own bubble and think fm is super huat kueh
But actually other specs r more huat, but the issue is u must fight to get in residency
Kenna bullied by senior, suffer that 6 years of residency

Even after exit, ur hod ask u to jump, u must jump too.
Swallow your pride. And get the pay

Wah but seems that the pay gap really big. Close to 100-150k/year difference, compounds if the fm don't clear fcfp (i.e stuck at AC)
You weekends and nights worth 150k/year?

Actually as a full C Work life balance is pretty similar across most specialties. Not to mention if you are procedural you can make a killing in private practice after a while as a cons

Its quite difficult to put a single number to a salary in a restructured hospital.

You should be thinking about a range - since it includes base salaries which can and do vary + bonuses which can vary widely + clinical/admin components

And that range should be close to the numbers quoted earlier for non procedural specialities.

Not being a citizen might be a disadvantage, as well having less/no connections. Have you managed to find any dermatology AC openings?

As to your previous question, Dermatology part of internal medicine in Singapore.

I am not sure how long it takes to get from AC to C, but if you spent a few years as an attending you would probably get a consultant position rather than AC.

On the mohh and specialist accreditation board website it states it is about 2-3 years to get full registration depending on your citizenship status. I believe until then you can only stay in an academic setting ie public hospitals rather than working in a private practice. It is possible by then you would be a consultant.
I do not think being an AC would be a good thing in private practice if you were to own one, as there are a lot of very senior doctors who leave public practice to private, and hold titles like senior consultant, have professorships etc, were previous head of depts, and have a strong reputation. Patients are likely to shop around and choose the most senior and reputable ones, so you might not get much business being a fresh AC. There is probably little cosmetic work in the public hospital setting.

I am not really sure why you would want to work here to be honest? Derm is one of the hardest to get in the US and highly paid with good work-life balance. It will be difficult to practise privately compared to the US as it is a small market and probably fighting with many big names. Maybe at least spend a few years as an attending?
Time really flies by. It's been 5 years since my original post, and my spouse and I still consider moving to Singapore.

How long would I have to remain on a Conditional Registration before I can obtain my Full Registration? Given that Dermatology positions are few and rarely advertised, should I cold email various hospital department heads to see if they have an AC/Con position available? What determines if I am offered AC, Con or in the unlikely event SC? Thanks in advance.
