Add calls and other KPIs and 300k TC isn’t far off. Assume his partner works and earns average income, 350k HHI is more than doable.
Ofc not easy to get into residency for the surgical and procedural stuff but no pain no gain also. Also if he go aesthetics after freg and grind 3 years expeirence before starting own clinic or becoming anchor at aesthetics clinic, 350k will be easy as well.

Any idea how much an AIM/gen med ac is drawing? with clinical allowance. Or is going private gp a better choice. if I am willing to put in the hours.

I think AIM/Gen med drawing 16-17k excluding bonus and KPI and other additions. Private GP + work hard and become anchor then eventually start ur own and scale definitely seems better

I sort of agree with you but not really. After UK training in rads I had the option to go Aus as well. After a few years I can move to private in Aus. Private AUS proceduralists can make 700k-1mil quite reliably. Then since private a lot of people use different tax structures to reduce their tax paid. House and car also much cheaper than SG
Ultimately home is where the heart is so i came back. Don’t regret training in the UK tho

So how much is Radio AC pay in sg
U can move to auzzie
Can U get consultant there?
Aus got restrict area of practice for medical practitioners but I guess as radiologist it doesn't really matter.
House where got cheaper?
If U compare landed , sure. But class for class, they not cheaper.
Car cheaper but because it's a necessity. U drive to town and park there..first U die from the jam, second U die from the parking fee.
I much prefer SG transport and I can afford a car in sg anyway.

Any chance for you to retake fcfp? Which aspect of fcfp do you find the most challenging? (Research/pedagogy/clinical)

AC rads pay in Singapore around 250-300k sgd depending on bonus and other KPI. If do internal locums can be more depending on how much u do.
Full C around 300-400k, SC no clue. Private no clue but I know i’d have to work a lot harder even though i’m paid more so maybe not worth
Yea UK CCT is recognised in Aus. I can go there and clear the Aussie version of FRCR and get a consultant post but in the Long run i’d definitely make more post tax in SG than Aus and I like SG food a lot haha. In SG I make less an AC but as a full consultant, SC and private id make more here post tax
Actually with UK CCT there’s only one year supervision in Aus for all specialties and then no supervision also
Sadly I want to buy a landed in SG but it’ll take quite some time for that in sg haha

Erm?
I'm a year 1 FM AC. 240k lei. Only m.med.
If I do fcfp and clear it then 3 years hit con
About 300k with the con promotion increment per my senior
The ortho con from 5 or 6 or 6 years ago I know cleared 320k as a post 2x hmdp knee/hip con. Maybe with the recent adjustment is 350k or 360k equivalent.
That's fine. The surgical con deserve his paycheck
He work hard to get there and he is really good. I'm no where that standard
I didn't work very hard la. I didn't suffer as a mo to get into a competitive residency. Just apply and got fm liao
FM residency was quite shitty but only for 1.5 years when doing the major rotations. Did quite badly during residency also. Need to be out on performance improvment plan but ok lo, pd quite supportive.
After that cruise.
R4 chiong half a year clear exams.
I would say maybe reward per unit effort quite high.
U all like to say specialist pays well, but U good enough and willing or able to work hard enough to go all the way or not.
At what price? How many Ent , ortho wannabe didn't get in? Life very stress to always sark the balls of the consultant lei.
Get in liao, how much stress . I've seen a few ortho ressie drop out.
One Mo did Ent rotation for 6 years before he gets in. It was his last straw liao.
Internal med resident so burnt out and disillusion that all she want is to finish their bond and go gp land because no energy to fight for senior residency.

Yea I don’t disagree with you either. To each their own. I believe ortho cons now are at around 380k. The only difference is that ortho cons once hit SC will be earning a lot more and have huge private practice potential where the sky is the limit but ofc must work much harder. But ofc the ortho cons had to suffer for it and sacrifice many things for where they are at so FM is an waylay respectable option. It just comes down to what you want from life

I agree with you. I think ortho cons now is around 380k. Could be higher if do internal locum or see private patients. The difference comes when the Ortho hits SC/moves to private where their income is much higher. I personally know multiple orthos raking it in
But yes IMO FM is equally respectable. Even though they make less, they sacrificed much less. I’ve seen how hard my peers worked to get into training and to make it through and they definitely deserve the amount they are paid. There is no free lunch. FM got damn good work life balance and don’t need struggle to become FM

Ortho cons makes around 380k. Difference in income comes at SC/private level. Also they have a lot of opportunity to see private patients that would push income north of 400k. But ofc need to struggle and sark cock to get there
