We graduated from one of them, but the specialist training we did in another university hospital not in the 3. so we might invest another 3 years for them to say that they do not accept it.
due to family reasons, there is certain amount of pressure with regards to the timing. i do understand the red tape in order to protect the profession, but it is quite painful for foreign graduates to come back.

Same everywhere in the first world. Foreign graduates always find it hard to move to different countries to work. At least you can still practice medicine

Dont bother asking this.
Most drs here gps.
Most common questions are about locumming.
You will meet the most unmotivated and unspecialised drs here.
Specialised? Surgeons? Hahaha you hardly find them here.
You ask how much is gp locum pay per hour and maybe alot can answer 🤣

May I know what is the base salary one should expect as a resident physician under conditional registration? I'm not sure whether I should negotiate for more base salary.
If following SG standards, I am PGY4 already.

There is no negotiating . Even for people coming through the system.

I'm in a similar situation considering a relocation back to SG. I'm a specialist in the US currently in private practice. I was under the impression that we have to work for 5 years as a specialist after completion of residency, to qualify for direct entry into private practice?
"Foreign-trained (except European-trained) specialists can practise under supervision of an appropriate specialist in a private specialist practice IF they have 5 years* or more of related specialist clinical experience after obtaining an exit specialty qualification recognised by the Specialists Accreditation Board (SAB). They must be accredited by the SAB and registered with SMC as Specialists before they can practise as specialists in Singapore."

MOPEX pay
Hi, I’m a HO now doing my first posting. Have heard conflicting info about pay of MOPEXes. I read somewhere before that it is $5300 after CPF + call + weekend rounds. I have also heard of MOs earning $4000+? That’s lower than what a HO can make after allowance, was wondering if MOPEXes can clarify. Wanna get rough numbers for financial planning. Thankss

the prudential financial planning is to spend as if you are making 3K
4K , 5K no difference la. if you are cutting it so close, u shouldn't be spending at that level.
anyway, given that this is your first posting as a HO in Aug, means u are more likely a rich UK grad. ( or maybe a dukie). So with rich parents, what the 1K diff? open hand and ask for money can liao , after all, u did just spend 500K of your dad's money, what's another 1 or 2K a month.
