It is just unfortunate that in sg now, an above average salary can't get you an above average lifestyle anymore.

From the perspective of a single, above average lifestyle = own 2 ocr condos, 2-3 holidays a year (fly in business class), regular restaurant meals etc.

Of course, we can still afford an average lifestyle (hdb, hawker meals regularly, 2-3 holidays a year in economy class etc)

So it's not so much that we are paid poorly compared to older generation of Drs, just that inflation has eroded into our QOL.
