Wait till you get the paycut haha.
Ops competition is never with ops 20 years ago. It's with the private gp groups who are hunting for doctors, it's with asthestics.
I have seen mmeder (yes, seniors who passed mmed) leave for asthestics during my residency years. Question is how can ops keep these people in this modern Singapore, where quite frankly money talks la. (For all the wax lyrical about altruism)

We dont need these doctors who leave.
The true doctors will always stay.
With rising healthcare costs the pay cut is inevitable

"We don't need doctors to leave"
Really? I actually left ops last year (after working there for 4 years as a gdfm fp). I signed as RP then got gdfm during my stay in ops. Decided to leave as not keen to do mmed (programme b), hence hard to stay in ops. (Even my head also tell me if not keen to do mmed, no point staying in ops long term, better go out when still young)

My deputy head asking me if I want to locum back there. (I don't have mmed btw (but they told me they really short and desperate for people nowadays.)

Private GP life outside is generally good compared to polyclinic.

Can go for regular toilet breaks, free drinks and coffee machine. When I was in polyclinic, it was so busy that I couldn't even go for a proper toilet break.

Have free time to surf forums. Pay is also better.

But more patients who are difficult and complain about little things. In polyclinic, I didn't get a single complaint letter.

I find the Caucasian patients in CBD area are very particular. Like to complain about little things. Need a lot if TLC.
