I am one of the R3 finishing FM residency in July. I was wondering when is a good time to start applying for a job post residency. Should I apply now or can wait till around may? I don't know but my friend who is IM SR exiting in July as well claimed that she had to submit her application for AC job back in Jan. Not sure if we have to apply so early for FM
I would have completed my bond in July and would be looking for a permanent job with a chain gp group. Also looking at satahealth as well as some of the fmc. (Basically anything but ops lol)

Just to share about my experience as a doctor in Sg in the private sector.
I find being a fulltime locum which I was for 10 years pays better than a private group GP. There is more freedom and flexibility though no cpf nor paid leave. The rates have also gone up through the years. Rarely, you may meet with a clinic with cashflow problem and delayed payment but mostly the
y pay on time.
I used to work 30 plus hrs a week and earn around S$12-13k
Now with a private group I only earn S$9k plus for 43 hrs of work.
I have no choice as am under conditional license now for health reasons.
But a word of caution about joining small GP chains as a fulltime Dr. I didn't have good experience with that. MCs are difficult to take and one group promised me S15k a mth but didn't pay me at all when I requested for mc instead they fired me.
Another group also made me pay them money insisting I didn't give them due notice.
So be careful joining small GP chains as fulltime Drs, my experience is bad with tjem

What is the definition of a small gp chain? From what I understand most gp clinics are solo Dr, even for the biggest chains like health way and RMG.
Do you mind sharing light on what are the large gp group? (I know rmg, healthway, parkway shenton are definitely considered, any other ones I missed out)

The question I'm more interested in is how u from full registration become conditional registration?
Not a lot of cases..mostly it's the lack of fitness to practice...and bad enough for people to complain to SMC to take action
If I'm you, I would be glad to have a job instead of complaining

Singapore medical environment nowadays quite litigatous, honestly can get sued quite easily. Just read the smc website, like every week got disciplinary tribunal being published...

It's less litigious than a lot of countries
A lot of cases nothing to do with medical malpractice
Lots of peeping tom cases that SMC has no choice but to make a decision regarding the practicing fitness of the doctor.
