Eventually you lose your sense of self worth.
So what got some money? Lose all your pride and self respect.
And the money? Nothing big lah. Not like get rich and can retire in 10 years. Still have to work till die.
everywhere customer is king ma. u work in hospital or polyclinic deal with idiotic patients also need to kowtow , smile and be nice nice.

polyclinic patient worse still.
-charge 6.9 nia can complain why see me at 9am when appointment time is 8:45. Say whats the point of appointment if cannot zun zun see at 8:45. really roll eyes at them.
- always request 10 thousand standby meds
- ask u chk the mole, the hair, the itchy anus, the rash as if the 6.9 very big. then tell u they chest pain , head pain , teeth pain and leg pain.
- anything say will complain to MP , MOH

in private the more the patient ask , the more money u can make. Irritating patient u smile this time, then just ask the receptionist to blacklist them lor ' auntie , clinic full liao , sorry' . I did private GP never see one rude patient before. In polyclinic really NBCB some of them

end of the day, earn the money , treat it as a job, dun think too much. invest safely and FIRE

My post was in the context of becoming GP/FP whatever primary care dr vs specializing.

In pte more patient ask more money? you dream on lah. They will say this how much that how much wah so expensive. then say you recommend means important.. Look at you want you give discount or free. GP land lots of price bargaining and talking like machiam pasar malam.

OPS fixed price. Already cheapest liao. Send to social worker.

You will never FIRE as a GP. You know lots of GP already FIRE? Even specialist also hard to FIRE. Dream on

To FIRE you need bonuses.

You go police station ask police give you gun. Ask police arrest people you dont like just cos you dont like. Can? They still nice to you?

You go doctor ask for cough syrup and dormicum a lot a lot. You ask doctor order every single test possible for free. You ask dr order full body entire whole body MRI pay cheap cheap or free. You ask doctor cure diabetes but dowan medicine. You ask dr sign covid vaccine but you never take. Can? Still nice to you?

Yeah some thinga dr cannot do lah. Customer want customer king. Ya ya. But dr just make customer king happy later kena leeported jia lat. Depend what you ask for la

Can I ask is there any additional value in doing gdom (diploma in occupational med) if I plan to go gpland? (I already have gdfm). Personally I don't see myself doing asthestics, was wondering what sort of other skills I can pick up to make myself more relevant in gpland?

GP land is 10% real medicine 90% customer service.

You want to listen to customer and guess correctly what they want.

Some customer just want reassurance. Dowan spend more money. Some want to do more test to be safe but need to fish out what test they want dont advise like they should do this or that give options let them choose.
If you just follow CPG some will not be happy. Let customer ne final decision maker.

Have to see. Some customer dowan conventional medical treatment also. Some ate amti vaxxers

Anti pharma.

Anti medicine.

Need to adjust what you say to suit them otherwise they will say you evil dr just stooge of pharma and the medical industry

Can I ask for doctors who left for private after their training and bond, but subsequently found that they don't like it, will they be accepted back to the public sector? (Referring to those who completed full training , not those who broke bond of course)
And asking from perspective of both specialist (i.e those who left after serving at least few years as consultant) and family physician (those who completed mmed/fellowship)

Default Coming back to work in SG with GP qualifications in UK

Hi there,

Is there a big pay difference (in both private and public sector) of working in Singapore with or without a GP qualification from overseas?

Am currently studying in the UK at the moment and considering whether to finish GP (3years) before coming back to work as I've heard that family medicine (aka GP in the UK) is getting increasingly difficult to get into.

Thanks alot!
