Is life of junior doctors really harder than their peers in other Industry?
Btw I am also a junior doctor (baby mo) mopexing. Agree that everyone, including myself is jaded and shag from this never ending pandemic.
However, when I speak to my peers (ex jc classmates, church cell group mates), it seems that other Industry are also quite bad. While they don't have to do calls (i.e work 30 hrs straight), most of them do work till late (sometimes 10-11pm plus, esp pple in law and finance)

My friends work in a variety of industries, including law, finance, education, chemical and electrical engineers, and cooking (have a couple of friends working as chef). Ironically I don't have any computer science grads (so nt sure Abt that field)

Paywise, most earn similar, if not less than my mo pay (if you include call pay and the 500 dollar mo allowance). Only exception is finance (my friends earn around 7-8k in finance). Having said that we are all quite junior (2-3 years) in our field, i.e all less than 3 years experience, so not sure how we will progress I guess.

it's not that bad.
baby mo actually quite chill except for the calls and the weekend burnt. it's the ho and reg life that is quite bad.
comparatively my life not v bad.
I work as a fp at the polyclinic.
good days I leave at 430pm and 5pm already at home netflix with a beer.
bad days..well, no bad days, I chop chop see and go.
anyway, I done my time in hospital during residency and have my share of burnt out.

my wife might come back at 8pm , away at work for 12 hours, very pissed after navigating rush hour traffic.
eat dinner liao, go back com and work till 10pm. 12pm come to sleep.
by Friday she is like a wilted flower and very goruchy. Saturday sleep till 12pm to recover while I get up at 5am to go about my weekend.

Can I ask, if someone has full registration and has no bond, what is the penalty if they are caught locuming outside?

I am currently mopexing in ED. Foreign grad, so no bond, just got full reg recently. I am planning to leave end of current mopex posting (i.e early July) for gp land, so thinking of locuming now to gain exp (Ed is largely shift work, which is also good if I plan to locum)

Reason that I don't want leave now is that I have a verbal agreement with my Ed hod that I will complete my current mopex posting. (Feel I should keep my word as he did help me write letter to get my full reg and has been treating me well for past 3 postings when I am in Ed during this difficult pandemic time)

Dont worry! U cfm full reg right?

Just locum.
Ed wont sack u coz they no manpower
I dont believe mohh hr dare to sack you.

I belong to the era (grad in mid 2010s) where my batch got screwed badly.
Local grad, full reg. But in our 3-4 years of bond, we were locuming like mad.

Then some guy submitted to mohh hr our names.
We got summoned to hr, was offered the choice of immediate dismissal or recant + forfeit two years bonus and no promotion.

Those that could pay bond paid, those who cant just suck it up,

For your case, u might forgo the bonus lah. But who cares right since u intend to leave anyway,

that guy was a foreigner u know right?
some Indian grad.
he locum and when a patient collapsed, he did CPR on the patient still in the chair
pat went hospital, dunno die or went to ICU, family complain. I think was just asthma attack or something
he got found out and censured , copy names from various clinic he locum at and drag everyone down

that's how vicious Indians snakes are. own fault still drag everyone down. on a dark night between a cobra and a similing Indian , I'll take my chance with the cobra.

anyway, just locum a bit la. find some more ulu clinic footfall a bit lower. approach the anchor/owner say u want gain experience and looking at long term commitment.
remember, if the anchor or guy is an Indian, avoid at all cost. if not, u die , rot till left bone also dunno why.
always becareful of ur India Indian and Malaysian colleagues. smile hide dagger.

u no insurance coverage btw..that something a lot of us fail to neglect.
if found out , u no breach any legalitly, only breach contractual terms, so no long term consequence.

gxgx. next time open clinic chain, then CEO of health company and finally pap minster dun forget me ah. treat me drink Milo Peng.

lol why so racist. i've worked with many indian colleagues and never had any major issues with them. same number of bad eggs in all races. in fact had an experience where an indian colleague backed me up in a very tough situation.
