Lol… u must be a jaded young HOMO, going on about how Locum rates are higher than consultant.
Yes yes… with the hours a HOMO works converted to Locum pay, your monthly pay can definitely more than AC / C base pay. Don’t worry we’ve all been in that state of disillusionment.
For AC/C, they don’t only get base pay but all the other bonuses depending on their department contribution and so on. So it can actually go up to pretty high.
Ie your pay is not proportionate to your hours put in - you get paid for your expertise and knowledge and contribution
For Locum, you essentially trade your time for money
No career progression. Do the same thing forever.
No career stability. No CPF contribution.
So don’t just look at the cash. Look at the big picture.

Yes my young Padawan…
Public gives you bonus than a salaried GP…
That’s how the salaries can remain competitive.
Private GP is not private investment banking where you are given to 6-12 months of bonus.
Max they give u 13th month AWS.

*more bonus than a salaried GP.
Anyway there’s no right or wrong path.
Just keep the big picture in mind. If your end goal is to run your own GP clinic then by all means.
What I’m trying to say is don’t just follow the cash. Think of the big picture and end game.

That really is true over past few months. locums in ccf get paid 140 dollars a hour, their monthly pay is higher than a consultant if they work 5 days a week and they have minimal responsibility (compare to con)
Of course this is probably a temp thing.
Part of me is wishing the pandemic last for 2-3 more years, so that when my bond finish 1.5 year time, I can join into the lucrative business...

May I ask what's the range of pay you talking about for c/SC?
I know AC base pay is 12k, I guess with add ONS, it can reach 15-16k, then con maybe 20k and SC 25-30k?
More than a salaried gp, but still pales in comparison if one does asthestics?
