It is the ultimate place to be. I should have moved here much earlier if I think back. And there is no racism whatsoever. Amazing place. I highly recommend it to doctors like myself from abroad.

There is racism. But positive racism.
If you are white, patients trust you more
Pinkerton syndrome is well alive in Singapore
If you are colored or black, there is no racism.
Just regarded as another local/colored doctor.

I have plenty of Indian friends and many of whom are among the most hardworking and kind individuals. I do realize that racism is alive and well in Singapore but that is probably because many have not lived abroad or travelled enough to realize that Asians suffer plenty of racism when overseas. When they are finally victims of racism themselves, hopefully they will see the world in a different light.

I agree. Racism is always present.
In general it is better to be white.

There is no racism in Singapore. Regardless of race language or religion. It is in the Singapore pledge. People here are very friendly and polite and loving to all races.
Highly recommend Singapore. Low taxes. Cheap cost of living. Great weather. Top notch services. Best place to live in the world.

I would put USA, Singapore and HK as second tier due to their high level of medicine and take home pay after tax. Singapore also takes in a fair few foreign doctors who can't qualify for the first tier countries.
Third tier countries are the post-Brexit UK with its underfunded and understaffed NHS and the EU where doctors generally aren't well remunerated, and then there is everyone else.

Hi I'm a local medical student thinking of seeing the world after graduation. Any advice on how to get into the first tier countries Australia or Canada? They both seem to have covid under control compared to other countries.
I also prefer working in Australia first compared to Canada as its only 6-8 hours flight away from home. Thank you seniors!
