Standard is 44 hours
Usually 8 to 5. That is 8 hours per day, excluding lunch break.
So 5 days * 8 = 40 hours
You may also need to come back half day to round the patients.
For example, a weekend comprise of sat and sun.
Sometimes come back on sun for 4 hours, some times sat for 4 hours.
So times weekend free but the following weekend you have to round both days.

Rheumatologist is very outpatient based. I remembered when I last did rheum in ttsh many years back, the consultant cover the rheum and gm wards like once every 3-4 months. I think for the entire year, they prob cover the wards for a total of 3 months? Rest is outpatient which means you get weekends off. Pretty good life I reckon. Can earn around 20k/month which is typical for a medical consultant in sg

How difficult is getting into residency in singapore? I understand some residencies (eg IM) might be easier to get into than others (eg neurosurgery). Do local grads very often have to wait for a few years (2-3) before they get into the residency they like?
