Forget cost. Forget saving one's butt. Forget defensive medicine.

The most important is patient's safety and well being. What's best for the patient.

And if anyone scrimps on cost that will not go well in court.

Hi, just wondering what are good skills for doctors to pick up outside of medicine?
I am currently a mo, planning to be a gp in the long term. (Will be completing residency in around 1.5 years assuming I pass all exams)
I am thinking of attending courses on investment and forex trading. Also heard that computing and software coding is pretty essential nowadays. Just wondering if there are other skills that might be worth learning outside of medicine?

Just feel that even though we are doctors, we should also have a life outside of medicine to broaden our horizon.

Good listening skills, empathy and willingness to keep up to date on latest clinical evidence.

That is still within clinical work. I think the op is interested in additional sources of income outside medicine altogether

Some investing courses are good to equip you with skills to grow your wealth. Not sure about any other reskilling courses. Ultimately medicine is a niche field, our skills are not really transferrable to other industries..

How much does an average GP practising in aesthetic medicine make?

I know its a large range depending on how successful that individual is, but just trying to get a sense.

TIA.

Everyone should be free to choose how they wish to live. Doctors signed up to treat patients, not to do it for free. Lol.

I am sure that you are not working for free either. So I do not see how you are in any position to pass judgment on others.

This is a forum to share information. Cynical judgments like yours are not welcomed.
