Average Tenure of a Software Engineer
Hey Techies in SG,
Well so I recently read this article and was wondering what the average tenure in Singapore is by comparison?
Anyone can tell me how long you stayed with a company before you run into problems like tunnel vision or your salary raises bottom out?
What are some other factors you've encountered that forced a switch?

around 2 to 3 years imo.
It's an employee's market now, so unless you're bonded to someone, spending 2 years in a place would get you a good chunk of knowledge of the tech stack, and gain some proper experience outside of just fooling around and learning the stack.
After that, jumping could get you a 15 to 25% salary increase, and/or unlock the US west coast opportunity with their high 200k first year TC.

it's fine to switch yearly nowadays
best to be >=2 years, or at least having a long tenure in one of your previous jobs
