hey curious junior assoc wondering about the payscale beyond Big 4 junior partner (esp for AnG & WongP), would it be unreasonable to expect beyond 400k all in?

understand it is highly dependent on your book and the business you bring in, but whats the average ball park figure for an average Big 4 equity partner?

The collective wisdom of this forum has been quite clear on this: stay away from female lawyers. I'm not sure in what other way this piece of advice needs to be restated.
How is this even good advice by hinting that one gender is better than the other? Please don’t open that can of worms…

This is a really dumb question because nobody has the answer. The only people who have the lowdown on a partnership's equity draw are the partners themselves and you really think they will be posting here?

I can tell you for sure that it is way higher than 400k though. One B4 equity partner's salary has been publicly discussed in Singapore and it is far beyond 400k.

Default Should I join AGC

I’m about 4PQE and deciding whether to join AGC. Looking at it long-term, I heard the legal service pays decently and one can expect five figures, maybe 10-15k eventually (including bonus) once you hit the equivalent of a junior to mid level partner in practice. Given the uncertainties in the industry now, and assuming I’m not able to make it to equity partner in B4 firm, I think joining the legal service actually sounds like a relatively stable and comfortable choice?

400k is probably at the absolute lowest of the range for a B4 equity partner lol. Many junior partners in B4 are already earning in the 300k range.

No, it’s not a dumb question. He’s asking for ball park. I’m interested too so anyone with details, please do share!

Each of the US firms take different approaches to determining pay for their SG assocs. They do NOT peg to the London or NY scales. They also each have their own methods for discounting PQE, and they can also offer different amounts based on the individual. There is really no way to say for sure whether a US firm will pay you Cravath, MC level or lower.

The only meaningful way to compare across the international firms is to use a specific PQE (SG) as a reference. At the 1-2 PQE (SG) mark, after the recent pay raises, the MCs (which follow the UK scale strictly) are pretty much the top payers in the SG market even compared to the US firms. 4-5 PQE (SG) onwards, certain US firms become the best paying because you would usually at that point be put on the Cravath scale given to their US / London assocs.

MCs' UK offices are now paying 107,000 pounds per annum (approximately SGD 195,784 per annum) for UK NQs (equivalent to SG 2PQEs). So MC firms are paying SGD 16,135 per month to 2PQEs in SG? Bonkers if true.

Perfectly reasonable for what clients are getting billed and what the partners are raking in.
